According to Reporters Without Borders, freedom of the press is shrinking in every part of the world. One of the reasons for this is that journalists are being attacked due to war and violence. At the same time, he also said that democracy never falls from the sky, rather democracy must be promoted through practice. German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock said this while attending the 17th edition of the Global Media Forum organized by Deutsche Welle at the World Conference Center in Bonn, Germany.

Bierbock read the keynote while participating in a plenary session on 'The Power of Democracy' on Monday.
Talking about the challenges of democracy, Annalena Bierbock said, 'I think that democracy never ends. Because, democracy is actually like life, and life never ends.'

The German foreign minister thinks that democracy is like that, as people learn a little bit every day. He also said, 'Democracy never falls from the sky. We have to protect democracy.' Nobel laureate Maria Ressa, a journalist from the Philippines, also participated in the plenary session.

He alleged that women journalists are being attacked on online platforms all over the world. He blamed leaders like Donald Trump and Rodrigo Duterte for this.

Maria Ressa said, "When women are attacked in a society, it is the first step in the degradation of democracy."
